Almost there

2 weeks from today I will be going to bed before my induction. It’s hard to believe how painful 2026 has been and that even through the days that felt like they were never going to end, I still can’t believe how fast it has gone. I am so excited to meet this baby boy and to give him all of my love. To soak in the newborn bubble and to fully embrace the experience that I didn’t really get to have with my first.

There’s something about this experience, going through pregnancy in the quiet shadows, that is so beautiful. I can feel so proud of myself and my body, I can feel eternally grateful, and it’s for nobody other than myself and for God (and my family). There’s no posting the cute shower photos on instagram, there’s no buying the specific outfits or baby items because that’s what fits in with everyone else. It’s doing what truly works for me in this time of my life. This pregnancy has been extremely challenging mentally and still is, until I see both baby and I healthy on the other side of delivery. I’ve experienced so many things that most people don’t know about, including some good friends, that would leave anyone with PTSD. And even though I’ve tried for the last 18 months to work through it all, it’s still not perfect.

But I wouldn’t trade it for the world, I am getting to experience something that I genuinely didn’t know if it would be in the cards for me or not. To feel life growing inside of me, to be riddled with pelvic pains from a big belly, to get to meet another version of my husband and I’s creation. I’m so thankful and I’m so blessed. I may not post again until I get to the other side of things since even sharing a birth announcement now holds a certain level of trauma for me as well. Thank you Jesus for your eternal blessings.
